The CMS XC team had their last meet of the season on Monday, hosting the Rushville Lions. The Spartans ended a great season with bang, with both teams running to victories. The girls were led by Caroline Roberts, who battled her Rushville rival throughout the race before finishing a very close second in 13:14. Cree Slater came in 3rd (14:57), Riley Smith 6th (16:19), Jaycee Reeve 7th (18:04), Jaylynn Parsons 8th (18:22), and Kyra Branstetter 10th (24:11). The boys turned their grand finale into Spartan victory parade, taking the top 6 and 9 of the top10 spots!! This stellar performance propelled the team to a perfect score of 15 points. Led one last time by Maysn Welter's dominate first place finish, setting a new course record of 10:54!! Leo Moyer was 2nd (11:08), Desmond Shipman 3rd (11:40), Graham Pflum 4th (12:33), Noah Rees 5th (13:31), Alexander Streuwing 6th (13:36), Hunter Gregory 8th (14:08), Connor Evans 9th (14:16), Landon Bales 10th (14:39), Boyd Durstine 14th (15:42), Aiden Carr 17th (17:55), and Nathais Rude 18th (18:56). It was a fantastic season with all the runners reaping the rewards of their hard work and showing epic improvement. Our 8th graders will be greatly missed!
