The boys varsity (top 7) and Caroline Roberts traveled to Terre Haute for the middle school state XC championships to compete against the best runners in the state. Caroline and the varsity boys all were eligible after meeting the qualification standards. Caroline had a great race, covering the 3K course in 13:08. She placed 171st of 328 participants. The boys team proved they belonged on the big course by placing 26th out of 47 teams in the big school division. They also beat the rival Richmond Red Devils by 10 places to make the day even sweeter! Maysn Welter led the Spartans, placing 45th of 422 runners, in a time of 10:35. Leo Moyer was 75th (10:49), Desmond Shipman 121st (11:05), Graham Pflum 316th (12:11 PB), Noah Rees 400 (13:09), Alexander Streuwing 405th (13:12), and 6th grader Hunter Gregory in 414, with a PB 13:32.
