The 7th grade Lady Spartan volleyball team traveled to Winchester to play in the Driver Middle School tournament. We competed against three other schools: Shenandoah, Driver, and Monroe Central. We played a round robin and the best record would win the tournament. Our first match of the day was against Driver. The girls started out strong winning the first set 25-15. The second set was very competitive all the way until the very last point. We won 25-24. We would play Monroe Central next. The girls continued their aggressive match play and high energy for this game as they would win 25-19 and 25-18. The third game against Shenandoah would be a tough match for the Spartans. The girls started out strong, taking the first set 25-20. Shenandoah battled back to take the second set 25-21. In the final tie breaking set we would take an early lead, but Shenandoah would come back to win 15-9. In the end, we came out on top winning the tournament. The girls played some of their best volleyball yet! Leading servers of the day were Carly Moster, Abrielle Brown, and Avery Powell. Our offense was lead by Kastin Van Meter and Harper Wilson at the net. Elli Bentley, Alexis Gabbard, Ella Allen, and Harper Wilson would also contribute defensively for an overall successful team performance.
