The CMS Boys Soccer White Team hosted Southwestern Shelbyville for a rainy game Monday night. Jaxon Meyers put on a historic performance with six goals by the Spartan striker. Fellow striker Bentley Rowe scored the first goal with a stunner from outside the eighteen, and Meyers assisted Rowe’s opening goal. The Spartans went up 2-0 on Meyers first goal of the evening. Jaxon added one more goal in the first half off of a beautiful cross from Logan Houghland. Southwestern pulled one back before halftime to make the score 3-1 at the break. The visitors started out hot in the second period evening the score 3-3 on two quick goals. Then Meyers went to work. Eli Maze sent a nice through ball to the striker for his first assist of the season. Bentley Rowe assisted Meyer’s next two goals, and Juanfernando Mendoza also added an assist to the CMS frontman. Meyer’s six goals are a new CMS single game scoring record, and he took his goal scoring total on the season to 14. The White Team has been in impressive form all season with a record of 4-2-2. The Spartans will be back in action when the CMS Boys Red Team host Richmond Wednesday for 8th Grader Recognition Night at the Connersville High School field. The action is set to kickoff at 6pm.
