The CMS Cross Country went to Centerville to compete with New Castle and Centerville on Thursday 9/18. The girls had a strong outing defeating New Castle but falling to the host Bulldogs. Caroline Roberts ran one of her best races of the season, challenging for the lead the whole race before finishing a strong second in 13:15. Cree Slater was 10th (14:14), Riley Smith 15th (16:22), Jaylynn Parsons 17th (17:54), Jaycee Reeve 20th (18:17), and Kyra Branstetter 23rd (25:09). The boys continued their winning season, defeating both challengers. Maysn Welter fought New Castle, a runner who had beaten him twice this season, for the lead the entire race. Welter flew by him at the finish to win by 2 seconds in 10:38! Leo Moyer was 3rd in a great time of 10:50 and Desmond Shipman was 4th in 11:06. Graham Pflum finished 10th (12:59) breaking the 13 minute barrier. Noah Rees was13th (13:14), one second ahead of Alexander Streuwing in 14th. Hunter Gregory 17th (13:52), Landon Bales 18th (13:58), Boyd Durstine 20th (15:21), Connor Evans 21st (15:23), Aiden Carr 24th (18:41), and Nathais Rude 25th (20:47) rounded out the scoring. The team improved it's record to 7-1. The team will host Shelbyville on Monday 9/22.
