The CMS Cross Country team went to Randolph Southern to compete in their big invitational on Saturday 9/6. The girls had a good competition, finishing 13th out of 22 teams. Leading the team, with a top ten finish in 8th place, was Caroline Roberts with a season best time of 12:54. Cree Slater placed 30th (14:15), Riley Smith 99th (16:57 PR), Jaylynn Parsons 119th (18:39) and Kyra Branstetter 132nd with a personal best of 19:24. The boys had another near championship day finishing 2nd out of 23 teams, only 8 points behind first place. CMS placed 3 runners in the top ten, with 221 runners competing. Maysn Welter led the Spartans in 4th (10:43) supported by Leo Moyer 8th (10:56), Desmond Shipman 9th (11:03), Graham Pflum 34th (12:43), Alexander Streuwing 55th (13:23), Noah Rees 61st (13:28), Hunter Gregory 83rd (13:50), Landon Bales 109th (14:08), Connor Evans 154th (15:48), Boyd Durstine 164th (16:12), Aiden Carr 173rd (16:26), and Nathais Rude 206th (19:28). The team is next in action on Thursday 9/18 at Centerville, along with New Castle and Southwestern. The event is scheduled to start at 5:00.
