The CMS Lady Spartans traveled to Rushville Tuesday night to take on the Rushville Middle School Lady Cubs. The Lady Cubs got off to a relatively strong start and ended the first half up 2-0. Blakelynn Branstetter made 9 saves in the first half, and Abbie Lindsey took 3 shots. The second half saw your Lady Spartans put two goals on the board, but having tweaked the lineup to push up more attacking players, we were more vulnerable to fast counterattacks. Despite Zoey Klein making 6 second-half saves, Rushville added 4 more goals to their tally, and the game ended 6-2. Some notable performances include: Blakelynn Branstetter with 1 goal and 1 assist to go along with her 9 first-half saves, Abbie Lindsey with 1 goal, and Lois Riebsomer playing as a defensive midfielder. The "Larry Shaker Shot Maker" award was given to Ella Henderson, who played a tough and determined game as a defensive midfielder and box-to-box midfielder.
