The CMS cross country team hosted the Batesville Bulldogs on Tuesday 9/9. The Spartan boys tamed the Bulldogs and the difficult home course to run away with a 25-30 victory! The boys claimed the top three spots, assuring a winning evening. Mayan Welter set a new course record, finishing first in a time of 11:13. Nipping at his heels were Leo Moyer in second place (11:20) and Desmond Shipman in third (11:24). Assisting in the victory was Graham Pflum 14th (13:36), Alexander Streuwing 16th (13:42), Noah Rees 18th (13:51), Hunter Gregory 19th (14:18), Connor Evans 25th (16:34), Boyd Durstine 26th (16:53), Aiden Carr 27th (17:29) and Nathais Rude 28th (21:24). The girl had great runs, but fell to a good Bateville squad 45-17. Caroline Roberts led the team in fourth finishing in 13:55. Cree Slater placed 4th (14:37), Riley Smith 15th (17:25), Jaycee Reeve 16th (18:22), Jaylynn Parsons 18th (19:01), and Kyra Branstetter 19th (23:27) with a 2 minute improvement. The team is next in action on Saturday 9/13 at the Randolph Southern 18 team invitational.
