The CMS Boys Soccer White Team faced off with Yorktown in a high scoring affair. After a back and forth first half, the Spartans settled into a groove finishing off the Tigers 9-4. Robby House started the scoring slotting home a close range effort, and Colton Crafton registered the assist on the play. Crafton got a goal of his own later in the match. Hunter Robinson netted two goals, and Jaxon Myers and Cooper DeBoard each beat the opposing keeper in the first half. The halftime score was 5-4. In the second half, goal keeper Ethan Steward and the defense settled in not conceding any goals to Yorktown. Steward made 11 saves throughout the match. Scoring goals in the last part of the game were Crafton, Myers, DeBoard, and Bentley Rowe. “This was a complete team effort by the guys. Eight of our nine goals were assisted by different players. That kind of teamwork leads to continued development and success, and the coaches were proud of this lineup,” Coach Monica Jones said. The Spartans can be seen on the pitch again when the CMS Boys Red and White Teams welcome South Dearborn to the Connersville Soccer Complex Monday, September 8th, at 5:45pm for a double header.
