On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Lady Spartans faced the Courgars from Greenfield Central. Greenfield Central came out fast, scoring early on their way to four first-half goals, which proved too much for the Spartans. The four goals were all scored within the first twenty-two minutes of the first half. After that, and for the remainder of the game, the Lady Spartans played tighter defense and were much more competitive in the midfield, giving up one more goal late in the second half off a fantastic goalie distribution from Greenfield Central. This year's Lady Spartans are a young and growing team. Learning to play high-intensity soccer from the first whistle is still an area that is being actively worked on. Once these girls are settled into the game, they have proved to be a tough team to play against. The coaches are excited to see how the team adapts and evolves throughout the season. Key performances from your Spartans include: Abbie Lindsey with a stellar cross that wasn't quite connected with on the receiving end, Alyssa Richmond with a great run with the ball into the attacking third, Lois Riebsomer and Letti McGuire with strong defensive performances, and Taylor Moore recording six saves in her first outing in goal. Taylar's performance in goal and in the field led to her being given the "Larry Shaker the Shot Maker" award by her teammates.
