The team traveled south to challenge the Rushville Lions and Batesville Bulldogs on the host team's hilly course on Tuesday 9/8. The girl's were competing with a complete team for the first time this season! They came home with a split, notching a win over the Lions, but falling to a dominant Bulldog squad. Essmae Brewer led the team in 9th (15:18) out kicking Cree Slater 10th (15:19) at the finish line. Riley Smith was 13th (16:41), Leanna Paul 16th (18:54), and Melanie Jolley, in her first meet, was 17th (19:01) The boys had a strong run, but came up 3 points behind the host Bulldogs, while defeating Rushville. Leo Moyer continued his story book season with another first place finish, crossing the line in a time of 11:12. Desmond Shipman was a strong second (11:42) and Clay Glover placed 5th with a personal best of 12:13. Landon Bales was 11th (13:54), Noah Frost 12th (13:55), Hunter Gregory 13th (14:12), Boyd Durstine 16th (14:51), Andrew Biehl 26th (18:39), Ryan Owens 30th (19:27) and Leighton Hauck was 31st (19:51). The boys are now 4 and 2 on the season. The team travels to Richmond's Glen Miller Park to battle Seton Catholic and Richmond on Thursday 9/10.
