The CMS Cross Country team made the short trip to Rushville on Saturday to compete against 12 other teams in the Rushville classic. Both teams did well in the morning meet, posting good times. The boys had another stellar performance, bringing home the first place trophy! To make the victory even sweeter, they avenged their only loss of the season beating rival Union County. Leo Moyer had a another great race finishing first overall in 10:54, 10 seconds ahead of the second place runner. Desmond Shipman was 3rd (11:23) with his best race of the year. Clay Glover was 9th (12:16), Noah Frost 13th (12:30), and Boyd Durstine 22nd (13:13) rounded out the top five. Landon Bales was 26th (13:27), Ryan Owens 48th (14:42), and Andrew Biehl 74th (16:40) all had good runs. The girls team enjoyed the cool morning run. Cree Slater led the team in 35th (15:52), Essmae Brewer finished 39th (16:34), and Riley Smith, with her best run of the season, placed 42nd (16:49). The team returns to racing tomorrow, Tuesday 9/1 facing Richmond and Seton Catholic at Glen Miller Park.
