The team traveled back to Greensburg to challenge a good St. Mary's squad on Thursday 8/27. It was a dual meet and the boys and girls ran together. The team competed well on a slow and hilly course. The girls were running with an incomplete team again, but we have added a new runner who will begin participating next week. Essmae Brewer led the team in 8th place finishing in 15:33. Riley Smith was 18th (18:14) and Leanna Paul finished 16th (20:45). Cree Slater suffered a course injury and was unable to finish. The boys had a victorious outing, defeating the host team 25-31! The win pushes their season record to 3-1. Leo Moyer continued his successful season, scorching the course with a time of 11:05 to finish 1st. He was followed by Desmond Shipman in 2nd (11:42) with his best run of the young season! They were supported by Clay Glover 6th (13:01), Noah Frost 7th (13:15), Landon Bales 9th (14:01), and Boyd Durstine 10th (14:23), as the Spartans placed 6 runners in the top 10! Other finishers were Hunter Gregory 13th (15:59), Andrew Biehl 16th (17:13) and Ryan Owens 18th (18:14) There is no rest for the team, as they return to action at the 13 team Rushville invitational on Saturday 8/29. Boys and girls will run together at 11:00.
