The Connersville Lady Spartans traveled to Center Grove High School on Tuesday night for a first-round Regional matchup against the Perry Meridian Falcons. Rain delays throughout the evening made it difficult for either team to establish rhythm and momentum, as play was stopped multiple times during the match. Despite the challenging conditions, the Lady Spartans competed with determination and grit until the final point before falling 4-1 to the Falcons. Connersville represented Eastern Indiana with pride, competing at a high level and leaving everything on the court in a hard-fought regional battle. At No. 1 singles, senior Sophia Starr fell to Kennedy Deaton 2-6, 2-6. Senior Bella Starr dropped a 3-6, 0-6 decision to Genevieve Xayamath at No. 2 singles, while junior Amielya Mays was defeated by Abigail Witkemper 4-6, 1-6 at No. 3 singles. In doubles action, the No. 1 senior duo of Cam Butts and Trinitee Steele battled through three sets before falling to Christine Huynh and Alleigh Wilder 1-6, 6-4, 3-6. The No. 2 senior doubles team of Ella Miller and Maddie Harrison earned the Lady Spartans’ lone victory of the night with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) win over Milla Boyarov and Amelia Lewis. The Lady Spartans conclude the season with an impressive 15-7 record.
