CMS 8th Grade Baseball Rolls Past Rushville in 26-0 Win The Connersville Middle School 8th grade baseball team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night, defeating Rushville 26-0 in a four-inning contest. The Spartans’ offense was relentless from the first pitch, piling up 15 hits and driving in 24 runs in the victory. Every player in the lineup crossed the plate at least once as Connersville showcased its depth at the plate. Leading the offensive charge was Brayden Bell, who went 4-for-4 with 5 RBIs. Brody Baker added three hits and drove in 4 runs, while Caesar Orr and Koleson Gable each collected two hits and 3 RBIs. Also contributing hits at the plate were Damien Owens with 3 RBIs, Braylon Davis with 3 RBIs, Alexander Streuwing with an RBI, and Raylan Runyon. The Spartans were just as sharp on the mound, combining for a one-hit shutout. Baker, Owens, and Gable teamed up to allow only one hit and one walk while striking out five Rushville batters. Connersville will look to carry the momentum into Thursday when the Spartans return to their home field for a 5:30 p.m. matchup against Richmond.
