Connersville hosted the Union County Patriots on Monday night in what could serve as a preview of sectional play later this season. The Spartans used strong ball placement and aggressive play throughout the lineup to earn a convincing 5-0 victory in their final home match of the regular season. With the win, Connersville improves to 12-5 overall and continues to build momentum heading into the final matches before postseason competition begins. At No. 1 singles, Sophia Starr defeated Cassidee McCashland 6-1, 6-1. Bella Starr earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Abby Tipton at No. 2 singles, while Amielya Mays captured a 6-2, 6-1 win against Kehlan Baker at No. 3 singles. In doubles action, the No. 1 duo of Trinitee Steele and Cam Butts dominated Chloe Crabtree and Camryn Stewart 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 doubles, Ella Miller and Maddie Harrison secured a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Hazel Henke and Daisie Diskmond. The junior varsity Spartans also turned in a strong performance. In singles play, Abby Keal edged Kinley Whitley 6-5 at No. 1 singles, while Cat Graves defeated Elly Frazier 6-1 at No. 2. Payton Dice battled to a 6-4 victory over Kinley Whitley at No. 3 singles, and Frances Kelly earned a 6-0 win against Elly Frazier at No. 4. In doubles competition, Sophie Neal and Tessa Kelley posted a 6-0 victory over Bailey Peters and Piper Rosenberger at No. 1 doubles. Madison Smith and Lorelei Hughes also won 6-0 against Kyra Carson and Savanna Alcorn at No. 2 doubles. Dani Abrams and Ella Poe earned a 6-5 victory at No. 3 doubles, while Addy Storms and Eileen Wang won 6-2 at No. 4 doubles. Rylie Keal and Kami Scott battled before falling 3-6 in the No. 5 doubles match.
