Powerful Pitching Performance From Brannon Carries Connersville Varsity Spartans Past Franklin County April 13, 2026 vs. Franklin County Brannon was dominant on the hill, as the starting pitcher rang up 11 strikeouts in Connersville Varsity Spartans's 9-2 victory over Franklin County on Monday. Brannon allowed six hits and two runs over six innings while walking four. Connersville Varsity Spartans scored five runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Patterson doubled, scoring one run, Bentley homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Ellis doubled, scoring one run. A double by Keller extended the Connersville Varsity Spartans lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Connersville Varsity Spartans added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after McMullen singled to center field, and Patterson flew out, each scoring one run. Connersville Varsity Spartans scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Keller. Stephenson took the loss for Franklin County. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering eight runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking five. Bentley collected the save. Connersville Varsity Spartans piled up 11 hits in the game. Bentley drove the middle of the lineup, leading Connersville Varsity Spartans with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Keller, Bentley, and McMullen each collected two hits for Connersville Varsity Spartans. Flanigan and McMullen each stole multiple bases for Connersville Varsity Spartans. Connersville Varsity Spartans stole seven bases in the game. Blair led Franklin County with one run batted in. The left fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Weaver went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Franklin County in hits. Franklin County turned one double play in the game. Franklin County were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Marsh made the most plays with five.
