The Connersville Lady Spartans tennis team delivered a dominant performance on their home courts, sweeping the Northeastern Knights 5–0 to even their season record. Strong groundstrokes and aggressive net play set the tone early, and the Spartans controlled every match from start to finish. At No. 1 singles, Sophia Starr cruised past Kahlen Meyer 6–0, 6–1, while Bella Starr was flawless at No. 2 singles with a 6–0, 6–0 victory. Amielya Mays secured the sweep in singles play, earning a solid 6–4, 6–3 win over Sammi Kircher at No. 3. That momentum carried into doubles play, where both duos moved cohesively, communicated effectively, and played aggressively throughout the night. Cam Butts and Trinitee Steele secured a 6–1, 6–2 win over Alyssa Sheets and Olivia Null, while the No. 2 team of Maddie Harrison and Ella Miller matched that scoreline with a victory over Nicole Sheets and Aubrey Mainous. In junior varsity competition, the Spartans also turned in a strong showing. Abby Keal led the way with a 6–2 win at No. 1 singles, and Frances Kelly added a decisive 6–0 victory at No. 3. Cat Graves fell 3–6 at No. 2 singles, and Dani Abrams dropped her match at No. 4. Doubles play saw Sophie Neal and Tessa Kelley dominate 6–0 at No. 1, while Ella Poe and Payton Dice earned a 6–1 win at No. 2. Madison Smith and Lorelei Hughes added another victory with a 6–4 result at No. 3 doubles, while Addy Storms and Eileen Wang came up short. Now sitting at 1–1 on the season (with the junior varsity improving to 2–0), the Lady Spartans return to action Friday at 5 p.m. as they host Shenandoah. Looking ahead, Connersville hits the road April 14 for an EIAC matchup at South Dearborn, returns home to face Oldenburg on April 15, and closes out the week with another conference match against Greensburg on April 17.
