CMS 8TH GRADE BOYS BASEBALL DROPS SEASON OPENER ON THE ROAD VS TRITON CENTRAL

Connersville Spartan 8th grade Baseball dropped their season opener on the road against Triton Central on Monday. The Spartans out hit their opponents 6 to 2, however, free passes ended up costing them the game. Triton Central was patient at the plate and collected 12 walks compared to 2 for the Spartans. Damien Owens started the scoring for Connersville in the 4th with a 1 out double followed by a Koleson Gable single that would bring home pinch runner Hank Nickel. The Spartans would add another run in the 5th. Noah Richards led off the inning with a double and would eventually be driven home by a Brayden Bell single. Collecting hits for the Spartans were Noah Richards (2), Brayden Bell (2), Damien Owens, and Koleson Gable. Scoring runs for the Spartans were Noah Richards and Hank Nickel. The Spartan 8th graders are eager to return to the field next week. Monday the squad travels to New Castle followed by their home opener on Wednesday vs. Jac-Cen-Del.
