April 6, 2026 vs. Batesville Connersville Varsity Spartans bested Batesville 7-5 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the sixth when Bentley singled, scoring two runs. Batesville opened the scoring in the third after Dudley singled, scoring one run. Connersville Varsity Spartans scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to right field by Brannon. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Connersville Varsity Spartans went back into the lead after Flanigan singled to center field, and Keller walked, each scoring one run. Batesville took the lead, 5-4, in the top of the sixth thanks to singles by Dudley, and Maple. Connersville Varsity Spartans took the lead, 7-5, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Flanigan, and Bentley. Shearer earned the win for Connersville Varsity Spartans. The reliever allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking three. Weigel took the loss for Batesville. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs on one hit, striking out none and walking two. Brannon stepped on the mound first for the Connersville Varsity Spartans. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking five. Dudley started the game for Batesville. The hurler surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking none. Leadoff hitter Flanigan led Connersville Varsity Spartans with three hits in four at bats. Brannon, Flanigan, and Bentley each drove in two runs for Connersville Varsity Spartans.
