The Spartan golf team began their dual match season at Arbor Crossing Golf Club Monday evening and defeated Muncie Central Bearcats 169-220. Recently aerated greens caused a lot of putting frustrations but the boys came through with respectable scores. Logan Young was low-medalist on the evening with a 39. Trey Hughes closely followed with a 40 and Aiden Gibbs a 42. Talon Sherwood rounded the Spartan scoring with a 48. Levi Marszalek finished his round with a 52. We challenged ourselves tonight but we knew with the wind and the greens it would be tough to have our score where we want to be. Still, I was extremely happy with our scores given the conditions. The Spartan will travel to Union County on Thursday to take on the Patriots with the match scheduled to start at 5:00.
