The Lady Spartans were in action on Tuesday February 24th as they took on New Castle. They started out the first quarter with a lot of energy on the defensive end but weren't as efficient on offense as they were down 13-2 going into the second quarter. The girls showed life on offense with shots falling from Blakelynn Branstetter with 5 points and Kastin Van Meter with 2, but were down at the break 22-9. The girls came out of the locker room after halftime and got great looks but couldn't get a lot to fall. They lost 41-11 with the leading scorers, Blakelynn Branstetter with 5, Caroline Roberts with 3, and Kastin Van Meter adding 3 as well. The Lady Spartans were also in action on Wednesday February 25th as they took on South Dearborn. The first quarter was a great defensive battle with both teams scoring in the single digits, 6-2 Lady Spartans up at the end of the first quarter. Caroline Roberts had 4 with Blakelynn Branstetter adding 2 points. The second quarter was much of the same as 6 points were scored once again this time by Kastin Van Meter with 4 points Blakelynn Branstetter with 2 points. The Lady Spartans took a score of 12-6 at the halftime break. The girls came out of the locker room after halftime and got great looks with amazing ball movement. The highest scoring quarter of the game in the 3rd with hot shooting by Blakelynn Branstetter with 7 points and Caroline Roberts at the freethrow line with 2 points. The scoring tamed down with only 3 points scored by the Lady Spartans in the 4th quarter by Caroline Roberts, 2, and Kastin Van Meter, 1, all at the freethrow line. The Lady Spartans came out victorious with a score of 24-13. Leading scorers were Blakelynn Branstetter with 11, Caroline Roberts with 8, and Kastin Van Meter with 5 points. The Lady Spartans finish their final 3 games of the season next week at Lincoln on March 2nd, and at Batesville March 3rd with their last home game being a RED OUT game on Thursday, March 5th at 6 PM.
