The 7th grade Lady Spartans took on Northeastern on Monday night at home. Coming off a week where almost everyone on the team was coming off the flu and just being sick in general. Northeastern jumped on us right out of the gate taking a 21-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter our defense was solid and just held them to 4 points, but our offense was still a work in progress and Northeastern took a halftime lead of 25-7. 3rd quarter and into the 4th they went on a 16-2 run and won the game 46-9. You could tell that we hadn’t been able to practice because our girls were winded and took great shots but just wouldn't go down. Leading the way was Kastin Van Meter with 5 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks, followed by Ella Hammons with 2 points and 2 steals and Elli Bentley with 2 points, 2 assist and 4 rebounds. The Lady Spartans are back in action on Tuesday against New Castle Middle at home.
