Connersville

Last night the girls were in action in Rushville after playing the night before in Union County. The girls were short handed in Union County but played hard. After the 1st quarter the girls were only down 3-8, but Union County took a big lead into halftime after going on an 8-0 run and leading at halftime by the score of 16-3. They didn't let up in the 3rd or 4th quarter, with a final score of 33-14. Leading the Spartans was Kastin Van Meter with 8 points, 7 rebounds, followed by Ella Hammons and Elli Bentley both with 3 points. Going into the contest last night we did get one of our players back from being ill the day before. The Spartans played good defense, but the Lady Cubs of Rushville just played better offense. We were held scoreless in the first quarter and down 7-0.. Second quarter we got on the scoreboard but were outscored again 9-3 and down at halftime 16-3. The Cubs offense didn't let up in the second half and beat the Lady Spartans 39-7. You could tell our girls were tired and just couldn't keep up with the pace after playing the night before. Leading scorer was Elli Bentley with 4 points and 4 rebounds, Kyra Branstetter with 3 points 2 steals and Ella Hamons with 2 points 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Spartans are back in action on Tuesday the 17th at home against Hagerstown Middle at 6pm
