The 7th grade lady spartans were back in action against East Central Middle School after being off for over a week due to the winter storms across the area. Spartans were in a battle from the tip-off and holding their own, and only being down 7-11 after the first half of action. Third quarter was all defense from both schools, with each team only scoring 2 points apiece and East Central leading the contest 9-13. East Central scored a quick 5 points to lead by 9 but the lady spartans got back to back steals and closed the gap with 1:30 to 4 points, but down the stretch the Trojans just wore us down and took the victory by the score of 24-14. Kastin Van Meter led the Spartans in scoring with 9 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, followed by Ella Hammons 2 points 3 steals, Elli Bentley's 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assist and Melanie Killion with 1 point 2 rebounds. Lady Spartans are back in action Wednesday night when they travel to Richmond. Games start at 6pm.
