The 7th grade white boys basketball team was back in action on Thursday night to take on the Morristown Yellow Jackets at home. The Spartans ended up losing a close battle against Morristown with a final score of 36-34. Throughout the entire game the Spartans and the Yellow Jackets traded baskets in lots of ways whether it be layups in transition, jumpers in the mid-range area, or cutting into the lane for an easy two. Our defense was pretty solid overall, but unfortunately we could not get much going on offense and that happens sometimes. Despite the loss I am proud of my players for always competing and never giving up. I told all of them after the game to not beat themselves up about the loss, and that tomorrow is a brand new day to get better and to keep improving every single day. The leading scorer for the Spartans this game was Kash Cotten with 10 points. The rest of the scoring was done through Waylon Hamilton with 8 points, Brody Gough with 6 points, Koltyn Kafka with 4 points. Kai Smiley, Brock Dilk, and Eli Maze had 2 points each. The Spartans are now 2-5 on the season. They will be back in action on Monday January 12th for another home game matchup as they welcome the Talawanda Braves of Oxford, Ohio to Connersville
