The Spartans fell to Greenfield Central 16-45. The Cougars came out strong, scoring 15 unanswered points early in the first quarter, including three straight possessions hitting 3’s. Jace Tibbott had the lone bucket for the Spartans at the end of the first quarter. The Spartans competed much better in the second quarter, only being out scored 7-12. The second half we moved the ball a little better but we still didn’t get a lot of good looks at the basket. Although we cut our turnovers almost in half from the Richmond game last night, we still continue to struggle with turnovers. We faced strong competition in both the Richmond and Greenfield Central teams, but we didn’t compete the way we are capable of. We will continue to work on the little things and basic fundamentals in practice and will come back from break hungry for a win. Tibbott led the Spartans tonight with 5, Luke Myers and Alexander Struewing had 3 points each, Damien Owens and Bentley Sparks each added a bucket, while Brysen Trent contributed a free throw.
