8th grade lost a hard fought battle that came down to Greensburg sinking a last second shot at the buzzer. The Spartans trailed 3-16 after the first quarter, but continued to fight, outscoring the Pirates 20-11 throughout the second and third quarters. With 6. 7 second left in the 4th quarter, Greensburg hit a buzzer beater to secure the win. Despite the loss, Coach Gibson has already seen a tremendous growth in his players and expects the Spartans to continue to improve. Bently Sparks led scoring with 8, Brysen Trent and jacy Tibbott contributed 6 each, Luke Myers added 4, Damien Owens had 3, and Brayedn Bell and Alexander Streuwing rounded out scoring with a bucket a piece. Spartans are next in action on Monday at home against the Batesville Bulldogs.
